What is Sales Tax Registration?

Basically, Sales Tax is a type of tax that is imposed by the Federal Government of Pakistan for all the sales and purchase of the goods, and for the imports of goods as well. And for that reason, you really are going to need Sales Tax Registration. But before you start this process there is something that needs to be done, and that is to get registered with FBR or Federal Board of Revenue of Pakistan. At the end of this registration, you will be provided with an STRN along with a Username and Password that you can use for the online portal provided by the FBR. Once you have got your credentials then you need to login to that online portal for the registration, and then you just need to fill in Form 14 available on the menu.

Further, you need to fill it in with all the information that includes, Bank Account details, GPS Tagged information of GAS and Electricity Meters along with all the machinery. Tax Information (which includes Identification, and registration type). Once this form has been submitted, the next step is present at any NADRA Office for the Biometric verification. And you need to make sure that this should be done within a month after you have submitted your Sales Tax Registration Form. Just in case if you are a manufacturer, then you are going to get verified by a third party. And that third party will visit your office to find out that all the documents provided by you are genuine or not. Just in case if they find out any illegality then your name will be taken down from the list of Sales Tax Registration instantly. Furthermore, FBR has also provided its Online Portal over Mobile Application that you can use anywhere for filing the form.
